About me: I live in the Jimboomba area of Queensland where I share my home with seven gorgeous parrots, my son and his family. I love music, am a constant learner and enjoy gardening and bush walking!
Since 1987, I have been privately teaching piano and strings and tutoring students who struggle to fit in at school. Along the way, I squeezed in 20 years of school support education in kindie, primary and high school.
Values: I love connecting with the kids and families I work with – I love the breakthroughs, growth in confidence and excitement of learning. I’ve always thought ‘outside the box’ and that has allowed me to work with so many unique people in so many different ways on a huge range of topics and subject areas. I encourage all my ‘kids’ to think independently, critically and creatively so they can feel sure that the decisions they make will help them be the best they can be in whatever they pursue – now and in the future.
Approach: I use creative, responsive and experientially refined teaching approaches so that the learner and their learning experiences are the centre of attention at all times. The focus of any learning experience is the confidence of the learner as this empowers them to question their limits and grow.
